Juliette Zeelander

Juliette studied at the Melbourne University Conservatorium, gaining a Bachelor of Music degree. In 1961, Juliette was chosen as the concertmaster for the Australian Youth Orchestra, with Daniel Barenboim as soloist. She was a member of the Astra Chamber orchestra for many rears and was a founding member of the Melbourne Sinfonietta under Paul McDermott, which performed at Music in the Round in the 1970s.
Juliette joined the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in 1963 until 1978, during which she toured with them internationally to Canada for Expo 67, and to America in 1973.
She was a member of the Australian Pops and Philharmonic Orchestra for 10 years, and toured with them to Queensland, and regularly to the Sydney Opera House. She currently plays with Melbourne City Opera and other ensembles. She has had extensive chamber music experience over the years.
Juliette has been the concertmaster of the Victorian Concert Orchestra since 2005.
