Tutor: Great Works of Literature

Christina has a first-class Honours degree in American literature and history, a Masters degree in British literature (both from Monash University), and a PhD in Australian literature from the University of Melbourne. Her academic career included teaching at Monash and Swinburne universities, and at Deakin University, where she lectured full-time for 18 years. Christina is also an experienced teacher and worked in Victorian high schools for some years.

Christina's interests include literature, film, politics, art, fashion, popular culture, her friends and her beloved dogs.

Upon retirement, Christina knew that she would miss teaching, so she immediately started tutoring for U3A Melbourne City. She enjoys working with the adults in her group immensely, and her class follows an informal, highly interactive program. This includes short weekly lectures, readings and lots of discussion.

Christina also regularly reviews fiction for the monthly journal Australian Book Review.
