Angela Munro

Tutoring in: Environment
Before retirement Angela was employed and  self-employed in local and regional development from 1980 – 2004. A historian by training, her commitment to local government is based on its potential to engage citizens in bringing social, economic and environmental issues and planning together on a local level, both urban and rural. Until 2015 she has taught in urban planning and, as a keen environmentalist, combined activism with a range of non-government and community organisations in promoting environmental protection – including as an Australian Conservation Foundation councillor and convenor of the Royal Park Protection Group in the 1990s. She has had many articles published in professional and environmental journals and has a doctorate in city government. She has facilitated and contributed to community and industry conferences, seminars and training programs over the years. It is this experience and related networks rather than specialist environmental expertise which underlies the series of sessions of which she is co-ordinator.
