Bernard is an independent Director.
During his career he has been Chairman, Director or Committee Member of a large number of public and private companies and joint ventures associated with resources and energy. These included Shell Australia, Shell Venezuela, and Woodside Petroleum.
He was Chair of Pacific Hydro, an Australian-owned renewable energy company, from 2002 to 2010. It has wind and hydro assets in Australia and in this century has built substantial Run-Of-River hydro projects in Chile and wind farms in Brazil.
Bernard’s business interests include corporate governance and the systematic management of health, safety and environment. He sustains his keen interest in Latin America as a member of Pacific Hydro’s Safety and Sustainability Committee, and as a member of the Advisory Board of The Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies at the ANU in Canberra.
