Anne McGravie-Wright

Anne was born in Chicago, USA, to a Scottish Mother and an Irish-American Dad.
 
In the late 70's she successfully completed her Bachelor of Fine Art at Chicago's School of the Art Institute (SAIC). Anne arrived in Melbourne, Australia, in 1981 and began working at the State Library of Victoria, as a Paper Conservator. 
 
Later in 1983, she joined the Conservation Department of the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) and worked there from 1983-1993 in Exhibition and Paper Conservation positions. During 1991-92 she received a fellowship that took her to New York's Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) where she was able to immerse herself in the art work of that city.
 
In 1993 Anne relocated with her family to Perth WA, where she worked at the Art Gallery Western Australia for 2 years as Exhibitions Manager & Manager of Conservation Department. She also set up in private practice under the business name of 'McGravie-Wright and Associates,' working for private clients, State Art Galleries as well as the significant WA Art Funds.
 
Major Art collections Anne consulted for: The Wesfarmers Collection, The Kerry Stokes Collection, The Holmes a Court Collection, The University of WA 'Lawrence Wilson' Art Gallery Collection and The Art Gallery of WA (AGWA).  
 
Anne is married to Warwick Wright, with one Daughter, Alicia.
 
Since 2009 Anne has operated an Art consultancy and tourism business in Melbourne, which she has named Avec Pleasure and runs currently on a part time basis.
