Edward (Ed) Weiss, B.Sc., FBIM, FIIM, FIWM, AMIAE

Edward is an Agricultural Scientist who lived for six years in Egypt, and worked for 17 years in East Africa on rural development, including 5 years with a UN/FAO Team, and 6 years as head of research for a major agricultural company. Subsequently, as senior executive with the Swiss company CIBA he lived in Japan for 5 years. He came to Australia in 1971, and founded his own company which he still heads. He began lecturing at the CAE in 1975 and was appointed to the Board in 1980.He has been a lecturer at U3A since its inception. He is personally interested in the history of Africa and the Middle East. Born 1924, war service RAF, married 1954, with a son, daughter and grand-daughter.
